Why it matters
Low reflects fewer protective particles; evaluate together with HDL/ApoB.
If it’s low
Low ApoA1 indicates fewer protective HDL particles — often with metabolic risk.
If it’s high
High ApoA1 is mostly favorable — a lot of protective particles.
What to do
The same as for HDL: exercise, quitting smoking, a healthy weight and triglycerides.
